About Me

My photo
I live and love in the small town of Marmo, Ontario, Canada. I am a mother of two wonderful young men and grandmother to a little beauty that owns a big piece of my heart. I have great love for my family and they come first in my life. Mollydooker is slang for a left handed person and lord knows I am as left-handed as they come. Waltz, by definition is informal, leading purposefully( my life). I will be sharing with you my ... Mollydooker's Waltz.

I can't believe that Christmas is 3 months away !
I have 4 gifts purchased and will continue to shop until the second week in December, by then I should be done it all but  the baking.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
I use to have my Christmas shopping done before Halloween but since moving my budget doesn't allow for much above the bills each month.
I am glad that I our family is not about the gifts at Christmas we are all about sharing time together.
I have even cut back on my Christmas baking, with butter at $5.00 a pound ( I refuse to use anything but  butter) I really had to cut back.
I use to start putting a couple of pounds of butter a week into the freezer for Christmas baking each time it went on sale to help with the skyrocketing costs of baking supplies.
With so many going wheat free I hope to snag a great deal on flour this fall.
Do you do much baking for Christmas?
Gretchen and I had a blast making cookies last year, this was her batch, not bad for the first time on her own I just supervised.

The weekend with my little earth angel

I spent the weekend with my little earth angel, she came with a cold so we shared alot of time in the house.
We made scones and had tea and scones.
Gretchen spent alot of time playing with Charlie the cat and this morning while it was sunny we went to the park.
Had a great time together and hoping the next visit she will be healthy enough to take out to visit friends!

This morning when I awoke it was a chilly 0 celsius outside.
I really hate to see the summer ending but love everything to do with Autumn!
The kids out in the schoolyard having fun ( I now live a couple of doors away from the school),
The beautiful colours of the leaves, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables to have throughout the winter months, going to the apple orchard, soft and warm sweaters and of course baking and soup making!
There are many more reasons I love the fall, the fairgrounds are behind my house so I am lucky to be able to enjoy the fair for the whole time it is here. I can lay in bed at night and watch the lights of the ferris wheel and the other rides on the midway, listen to the music, the sounds of the barkers and the people enjoying themselves.
Do you frequent the fall fairs?
Our fair takes place each Thanksgiving weekend , this year Thanksgiving happens to fall on the 14th of October so it is not too far off.

Mollydooker's Return!

Hello there, I am sorry for not posting for such a long while but alot has happened since I last wrote.

After doing Dad's palliative care and trying to deal with the loss of my best friend, and father. There were also a couple of deaths of people I was very close to and Mom and I moving  and then the loss of my dear Smokey-Joe my "baby for the last 18 years " I must say took a toll on me and I lost interest in many things and am now dealing well with my losses and new station in life.

I have moved from Havelock,  Ontario to Norwood, Ontario to a larger home to ensure there was plenty of room for all my things as well as Mom's...we have our own spaces very nice and roomy.

I couldn't bear coming home to no cat to welcome me or to cuddle when I was needing a companion so I got a new little friend, he was 8 weeks old when I got him in January and his name is Charlie, he has become my little shadow.

Charlie is much bigger now and quite the little retriever (I am sure he thinks he is a dog).
Charlie is a Lilac Lynx Point Dolly- faced Himalayan.
Charlie loves my little earth angel Gretchen very much the two of them play themselves out when they are together.
As I am posting these pictures I can't get over how much both Gretchen and Charlie have grown this year!

I love the photo below he was falling asleep while waiting for the squirrels to come and eat.

I love his profile!
Gretchen is growing so quickly and has started  Jr. Kindergarten this year!
Wow how time flies I remember writing about her arrival and how excited I was to become a grandmother.  I have treasured  every minute we share together!

I hope you all have had a great weekend and I look forward to posting many more entries!
