About Me

My photo
I live and love in the small town of Marmo, Ontario, Canada. I am a mother of two wonderful young men and grandmother to a little beauty that owns a big piece of my heart. I have great love for my family and they come first in my life. Mollydooker is slang for a left handed person and lord knows I am as left-handed as they come. Waltz, by definition is informal, leading purposefully( my life). I will be sharing with you my ... Mollydooker's Waltz.

Last post

This will be my last post.
I have been finding myself spending entirely too much time online and have decided to only keep my e-mail and of course Pogo and Facebook accounts active.
This has been fun but now the nicer weather is approaching I feel my time would be better spent with family and outdoor activities.

Sad to hear of the passing of a legend

Today I was saddened to hear of the passing of one of my favorite starlets, Elizabeth Taylor.
The world has lost a true legend.

Ellizabeth Taylor not only lived a fairly long, very full life... I admire that
she lived it as she pleased.

It is nice to hear she reached 79 years of age.

RIP Elizabeth Taylor <3

Sick of the Winter already!

I don't know about you but I am so sick of the winter already!!!!
This morning I awoke very crabby not just because of the weather.
I haven't been able to sleep for the past 3 months very well , averaging about 1 1/2 -3 hours sleep if I am lucky.
I have tried everything I can to get some sleep, I am tired, crabby and sick of even getting out of bed each day because of it.
Pretty bad when you get up in the morning and look at the clock to see how long I have until I can go to bed again and start all over again!
Days are bad and nights are even worse seems I will have to try afternoon naps!

First Day of Spring!

Well it is the first day of spring and I am not too impressed!
When I awoke this morning the last thing I expected was to see the ground white again!
The weather called for some rain and apparently the temperatures dropped down low enough to blanket us in that darn white stuff.

I really hope that where you are is nice and sunny and snow free on this first day of spring!

Saturday in the Sunshine

Good morning!
Today I am going to be enjoying the sunshine and cleaning up the backyard.
Since this town has put in a Tim Hortons it seems that I spend each Saturday morning cleaning up their garbage that inconsiderate people toss out and the wind blows it onto our yard.
Funny thing about that we live at the other end of town and Ican only imagine what it is like to live close by the donut shop.

Then I will be spending my afternoon with family.
Whatare your plans for this beautiful Saturday?

Friday's Favourites

Good Morning!
Today is starting out to be a beautiful day  the sun is shining and the birds are singing...it is starting to look and feel like spring.
Today's favourite is... my Cream of Tomato Soup
This soup is made in one small pot and one large pot, the small pot is for making a white sauce and the large pot is where you mix all of the ingredients together to simmer into a flavourful  tomato soup.

Cream of Tomato Soup

3 cups peeled, chopped tomatoes (2 large cans of Marsala tomatoes in winter)
2 cups of water 1 small minced onion
1- 5 1/2 ounce can of tomato paste
2 teaspoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoon of basil leaves dried or 1/2 stalk of fresh basil chopped fine
1/4 teaspoon ground thyme
a pinch of pepper
mix together and bring to boil stirring occasionally
reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes
In small saucepan make white sauce with 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons flour and 1 cup of milk or cream
once made add a ladle of the tomato mixture and mix together then gradually add white sauce to hot tomato mixture stirring constantly.
Once heated through, serve and enjoy!

The beauty of spring!

I can hardly wait for all the lilacs to bloom and fill the air with their perfume and watch as the gardens come to life with the flowering plants and getting the gardens ready for another growing season.
Come on snow it is time you melted away!
What are  your favorite things in spring?

1964 Harley Davidson Sportster Art

My significant other has had a motorcycle sitting in the livingroom for the last year covered with a sheet.
I can say I am a happy woman today as he has finally finished fabricating and painting it and took it over to the owner's home to assemble it!
I now have my livingroom back and before he took it away I made sure to take some photos of it to share with you.
And once the bike is assembled I will be sure to share with you more photos of the completed bike.

I am always in awe of the talent my significant other has and appreciate the time he takes with his projects and hard work he puts into everything he does.
I am mostly glad to have my livingroom back!

Beef Barley Soup

Good morning!

My father loves to hear we are having roast beef for supper because he knows the following day I will make a pot of beef barley soup.
The day I prepare the roast, I brown it in a pot on top of the stove with worchestershire sauce, garlic, onion,a knob of butter and of course pepper.
Once the roast is seared and ready for the oven I cover the roast in boiling water and add the potatoes to cook along side it.
I usually take some of the broth from the roast half way through cooking to put over carrots in a separate baking dish, I find the carrots often make the gravy have a sweet taste.
I do save the left over broth from the carrots and add it to the pot of broth left over from roast along with the left over gravy after the roast dinner.
I refridgerate it for soup the next day.
I make sure to save a couple of slices of roast to cut- up in the soup as well.
Next morning I put the pot on top of the stove with the broth and the left over gravy and boil. I add 1/2 bag of pot barley, Once the barley has boiled in broth for about 1/2 hour add 1-2 carrots chopped small, 1 large diced onion, 2 celery stalks chopped as well as the leaves from the celery heart,1-2 cloves chopped garlic.
Continue to cook until vegetables are tender.
Enjoy!

Dreary Sunday

Good morning!
Today is such a gray day outside and the temperature is above zero so of course everything is starting to melt off so I will ensure today I will dig out my rubber boots before heading out for my walk.
What are you going to do with your Sunday?

Back to Blogging!

Good Saturday morning my friends!

I know it has been quite some time since I have posted anything but life has a way of pulling you in many directions at one time.
I have been dealing with many personal problems and spending as much time with my family as possible.

I was sitting here this morning and decided that it was time to start blogging again.
I realize I only have 3 followers but hope to remedy that this year.
Anyone have any ideas on how to increase followers?

I am spending today filling out the dreaded tax forms and owe my Mother a BIG THANK-YOU for all of the time she spent trying to find me some cash back this year.
Apparently in order to receive anything back on your taxes you have to make enough money to invest lol wouldn't you know it the rich still get richer...
Have you done your income tax yet this year?

Well it is nice to be back online and I hope to bring you lots of great photos and recipes along with some laughs and probably a few tears.
Have a great Saturday!
