Good Morning it is already 24C here at 8:30 am and the weatherman is calling for temperatures of 32C.
It is going to be a good day to find a cool place and stay there.
I have to run a few errands today so will make this a short post so I can get them done and back home to the coolness of the airconditioning.
Anyone out there today that is feeling the heat, go somewhere cool, the mall, the library, anywhere where you are able to spend a good part of the day in coolness.
I woke-up this morning with a head/chest cold and am not very happy about the fact I was near people that didn't know enough to stay home when they were sick!
I don't ever remember having a cold in the summer time before...it makes it very hard to breathe in the heat and humidity.
So if you are reading my blog and know me please save yourself some discomfort and do not visit for a few days.
Well I have to run, I am meeting an electrician out at the cottage he is going to be working there today so I guess I will bring along my camera and sit on the dock, or go for a walk and take pictures.

Monday Morning Testing
Good morning to you!
I do hope you have had a great weekend!
I spent sometime running the roads this weekend among other things my mission was to find some dill which I actually had no luck in doing but luckily my mother in law found some for me...such a sweetheart!
I went to Meyersburg Flea Market with a girlfriend and had a great time,we arrived before most of the sellers but that gave us opportunity to check everything out without the vendors constantly trying to sell you on something.
I took my trusty camera and snapped away so here is a few pictures of the flea market in Meyersburg.

Market Morning
Good morning, I am heading off to the flea market in Myersburg Ontario this morning with a dear friend.
I am once again on the hunt for fresh dill weed.
If I am unable to find it I will be eating baby cucumber sweet pickled!
We will be close to the Empire Cheese Factory so will definitely be stopping in for some fresh curd!
I hope to be spending my afternoon doing laundry and pickling.
Monday I will be late posting as I have an appointment in Peterborough early in the morning.
Have a wonderful Sunday and don't forget to thank the Lord for all the blessings in your life.

Sleepy Saturday
Good morning!
I am late posting today as I slept in this morning!
I usually am up early so this is odd.
I think I must have needed it !
Yesterday I picked-up a girlfriend and went to Brighton Ontario to get a peck of pickling cukes.
Apparently there has been some sort of fungus that has attacked the cucumber plants the last few years and they are quite hard to find locally.
I think I will be smart next year and plant my own pickling cukes as it cost $30.00 for a peck of them this year .
I know it sounds like it is expensive but when you taste the final product it certainly is worth every penny spent.
My dill weed didn't grow this year, a few feathery sprigs stand in the garden, maybe next year it will come up better.
Dill is a weed and it usually is hard to get out of your garden once it starts growing, I have tried for the last 5 years to grow my own and have had no luck.
Anyone had luck growing dill?
If so would you like to share your secret to keep it coming back every year?

Old cheese cut into cubes
Red onion
Poppy seed or Raspberry vinegarette
You can add whatever your favorite fruit or nuts are, I use dried cherries,dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and raspberries just for a change.
Enjoy!

Good morning, I hope you are all having a great week so far.
I have been calling around to the local farms and markets this week looking for a peck of pickling cukes and dill weed for making dill pickles.
Unfortunately I have not been able to locate any.
Anyone reading this post and is in the Kawarthas and knows where there are any, please share the location with me.
I am looking forward to spending this evening with my little earth angel.
As for today, I have neglected my home this week terribly as I have been running the roads quite a bit sooo I guess I had better get the lead out of my pants and clean!

Wednesday's Wish
I wish for many more days spent enjoying my family.
Today I spent with my youngest son, his wife and my little earth angel.
We went to the theatre in Stirling Ontario.
This was my granddaughter's first time going to the theatre and she enjoyed herself, I hope that she will develop a love for the theatre and will be attending more plays with me in the years to come.

Tuesday Morning
Good Morning, I was able to borrow a monitor until I have a chance to replace my old one.
Let me tell you this is so much easier than reading and writing everything backwards!
I am going to be taking my little earth angel and her parents to the theatre tomorrow for a matinee`.
This will be her first taste of live theatre and I hope that she will share my love for it.
The show we will be seeing is "Love You Forever, And More Munsch".
This is a compilation of five of he best-loved books by Robert Munsch.
The book "Love You Forever" was a favorite of both my boys when they were young.
I will be sure to take pictures of our outing, unfortunately I will not be allowed to take pictures inside the theatre but will be sure to take them outside.
I hope that you have a great day and I will be sure to post tomorrow afternoon when I return!

Backwards Monday
Good morning, I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Today will be a short post as my computer screen is split into two and backwards.
It usually can be fixed by turning the monitor off and on a few times but I have been trying for over an hour and I definitely need a new monitor.
I hope that this post is not backwards.
Needless to say I will be off line again until I can get this fixed.
I hope you all have a great day and I hope not to be gone long.

Grandparenting
Good morning!
I have had so much fun grandparenting my little earth angel this week.
I was hoping for some nice weather yesterday so that we could play in the park but the weather did not cooperate.
Instead we spent our time together playing indoors.
We played catch with the basketball, Gretchen wore grandma's shoes, took rides in the laundry basket across the hardwood floors, had a tea party,played clapping games and sang songs, practiced signing ( I think that Gretchen must know close to 30 signs, I was trying to keep count while we were playing but lost track after 20.
We cooked her supper together( I must get her a little apron), ate supper together and while she was eating I put The Wizard Of Oz movie on, she was mesmerized by the munchkins!
After supper I turned the movie off and it was time for tubbies.
We played with the tub toys and then it was time for bed, we sang bedtime songs and giggled until she went to sleep.
I treasure each moment we share together .

Jamboree Weekend
Well it is the Havelock Jamboree weekend and as usual the weatherman is calling for rain.
I think in the last 21 years there has been only 2 years that it hasn't rained.
It is absolutely crazy here in town, if you need anything from the grocery store, it is easier to wait until the middle of the night to shop or be smart and stock up before the endless line of trailers hit the highway.
I usually try to hide at home until it is all over with but this year I have promised to grandparent my little earth angel and I am not looking forward to trying to get across the highway or going to the gas station to fill up.
The wait to get across the highway yesterday was so long I had to wait almost 1/4 of an hour.
I am sure I am going to have a ball getting out of town today.
I am looking forward to seeing my little earth angel, she is growing so quickly and I enjoy each moment I share with her.
I promise to share pictures tomorrow.

Friday's Favorites
Wild Grape Jelly/Concorde Grape Jelly
3 quarts grapes
11/2 cups water
1 box certo crystals
7 cups sugar
Crush grapes, add 11/2 water bring to boil and simmer 10 minutes covered.
Strain through cheese cloth, it should make 5 cups of juice, then add 1 box certo (follow directions on box.
Bottle your jelly, this recipe makes 3-4 pints.
Enjoy!

Good to be back on line!
Good morning, I know I have been away for what feels like forever and I am so happy to be back!
I am spending the day today at my parent's home helping out around the house as my parents are away today.
I had a few things happen while I was off line, I awoke to find it raining in my livingroom, a water pipe had broke and had to replace my ceiling in the livingroom and well I am sure you could picture the mess that goes along with that.
There are somedays that it just doesn't pay to get out of bed lol.
I had a wonderful birthday, my parents invited the family for a bbq and a great time was had by all.
